Simone Pitta is in charge of the planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes for ICTJ Colombia. Before joining the ICTJ, she worked for two years as a project coordinator at the Electoral Observation Mission, especially in activities aimed to protect political and social leaders, and political violence prevention from a differential approach. She has more than ten years of experience in teaching, managing, and evaluating policies and projects on violence prevention, political participation, and promotion of rights in Brazil (RJ Human Rights Secretary) and Colombia (Victims Unit and the Inspector General's Office).
Simone is a trained lawyer (Pontificia Universidad Católica de RJ), holds a master’s degree in political science (The New School for Social Research) and is currently a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Universidad de los Andes.
