On the 80th anniversary of the massacre at the Babyn Yar, the Crystal Wall of Crying, a modern art installation is unveiled.
The tech-heavy approach to advertise the installation including online gaming has been criticized by traditionalists who say it dishonors the solemnity of the topic.
Ruslan Kavatsiuk, the memorial group’s deputy director, however said the more modern approach would help reorient the way people viewed the site, restoring Babyn Yar as an appropriate place for honoring victims.
